Web Apps
This page serves as a portal for access to Aeronautica’s Analytical Web Tools. These tools were developed by Aeronautica to produce full flight by flight spectra. The primary spectrum development tool is named Aspec. The origins of Aspec date back to a much earlier code developed for the A-7D Corsair ASIP evaluation which the government publicly published in 1977. The current Aspec code uses the same methodology but has been greatly rewritten over the past 30 years. The latest 2020 revision was a significant overhaul of the code to include enhancement in accuracy of results, inclusion of spectrum damage tags and conversion to a full web based application.
The Aspec application has been successfully used to develop flight by flight spectra on a wide variety of aircraft models in support of FAA certification efforts. Aspec utilizes the large database of FAA/DOT flight and ground load histories that have been published over the past 30 years. However, it is not limited to these. Any load histories, if representative, can be used for particular applications. Additionally, both generic and specific mission profiles are provided along with the ability to use custom missions as well.
Aeronautica plans in the near future to make Aspec available commercially on an annual lease basis. At the moment, access is limited to Aeronautica personnel only. Details will be forthcoming. For more information, you can attend one of the upcoming the Advanced Spectrum & DTA Applications Courses which provide not only in-depth discussion of Aspec but also numerous example problems.
